AWARE Fish Identification

You'll find you enjoy your dives even more when you recognize the creatures that you see. The fun part about this course is you can use the skills you learn on every scuba diving vacation because once you learn the main fish families and characteristics it will help you decipher the species you see all over the world.

This specialty can be used as one of five Specialty certifications required for your
Master Scuba Diver certification.

What Is Involved?

In this course you will learn:

· How to identify characteristics of local fish families and species

· Fish survey techniques and strategies

· How to practice fish identification dive planning, organization and procedures.

There are 2 Open Water dives that are required for certification

Who Can Learn?

 

· At least ten years old.

· Certified to the (Jr.) Open Water Diver level or equivalent.

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost of this course is $129 (tuition), plus course materials. Not included are fees for trips, boat fees or park fees, and rental equipment.
